Privacy Policy

Plain language. No hidden collection. No selling. No tracking scripts. This is what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

This policy applies to guardianity.space (this site). Renji (renji.guardianity.space) and Dreambound (dreambound.space) have their own privacy policies at their respective domains.

Who we are

Guardianity is a small software house based in Nairobi, Kenya, founded by Balingene N'Sii Dan Igor. We build Renji, Dreambound, and whatever comes next. For privacy-related questions, contact us at support@guardianity.space.

What we collect and why

Newsletter subscriptions

When you enter your email address in the "Stay close" section, we store:

  • Your email address
  • The date and time of your subscription

We use this only to send occasional updates when something ships or something worth sharing happens at Guardianity. We do not send marketing emails, we do not sell or share your address with anyone, and we do not use it for any other purpose.

Contact form messages

When you submit the contact form, we store:

  • Your name (if provided)
  • Your email address
  • The subject and message you sent
  • Your IP address (stored for abuse prevention; not shared)
  • The date and time of submission

We use this only to read and reply to your message. We do not add you to any list without your separate consent.

Server and access logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard web server data including IP addresses, browser types, and pages visited. This data is used by Vercel for security and infrastructure purposes. We do not access or process it for analytics. Vercel's own privacy policy applies to this data and can be found at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not use cookies on this site
  • We do not use analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar)
  • We do not embed third-party tracking scripts
  • We do not fingerprint your device or browser
  • We do not collect payment information (this site has no payments)
  • We do not build advertising profiles
If it's not listed above as something we collect, we don't collect it.

Where your data is stored

Newsletter subscriptions and contact messages are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by a third-party cloud provider. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or until we shut down the newsletter.

Contact messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted. If you request earlier deletion, we will comply within 30 days.

Your rights

Regardless of where you are in the world, you have the right to:

  • Access — ask us what data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion — ask us to delete all data we hold about you
  • Objection — ask us to stop processing your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, email support@guardianity.space with the subject line "Privacy request — [type of request]". We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge a fee for these requests.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter

Email support@guardianity.space from the address you subscribed with, with the subject "Unsubscribe". We will remove you immediately and confirm by reply. One email is enough.

Links to other sites

This site links to Renji and Dreambound, both of which are separate products with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — please read their own policies.

We also link to third-party sites (GitHub, etc.) where relevant. We have no control over those sites' practices.

Children

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through this site, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not apply material changes retroactively to data collected under an older policy without notice.
